Curriculum Intent

The Heath School curriculum is designed to give all our students:

• A stimulating and challenging range of subjects that will engage them and provide each with the skills to succeed from their individual starting point

• Personal development opportunities throughout the curriculum.

• Real-world learning experiences.

• Regular opportunities to return to prior knowledge and embed it in the long-term memory.

• Opportunities for development of literacy and numeracy, embedded across the curriculum.

• The knowledge and skills to succeed in future learning and employment.

  All teachers attend weekly Academic Leadership Team (ALT) meetings and contribute to whole school curriculum development. Subject leads review their scheme of learning on an annual basis, taking into account student voice, and comparing predicted outcomes with end of year outcomes.
