Cooking Up Creativity, Teamwork and Enterprise

Heath eats week

Summer 2 has seen Heath students create their own food ordering and delivery mini business. Each tutor group are designing and running their own delivery‑only food business within school. Students are taking on the challenge of creating a complete food service experience, from choosing their cuisine and designing branding, to preparing fresh meals and delivering real orders to staff across the school.

Each group developed a unique concept, including Simz’s Mexican dishes, Thompson’s pasta menu, and Year 10’s wraps; demonstrating creativity, organisation, and teamwork throughout the project. As well as cooking,  students are exploring marketing, packaging, and customer service - building valuable skills that prepare them for future qualifications and real‑world experiences. But this challenge is about much more than cooking. Students will develop real business skills by designing logos, creating eye-catching posters, and marketing their restaurant to the whole school. They will also select packaging and create branded stickers to make their products stand out.

Menus will be carefully planned, with meals freshly prepared to order and delivered directly to staff members across the school. Customers will include teachers, support staff, admin teams, and senior leaders - ensuring everyone gets to enjoy the results. The aim of the project is to build teamwork, creativity, and customer service skills, while giving something back to the school community.
