Meet our new furry friends

Posted on: 7th Jul 2023

Earlier this year, Heath School students took part in Land Based Studies, a broad subject that includes animal care and plant based studies.

The students enjoyed creating and decorating their own flower beds, using the skills they gained at the Avalon Pproject. The herbs they planted have grown well, and proved a tasty addition to the students' food lessons.

Animal care is a popular part of the classes. As well as making frequent trips to Kentish Town City Farm, the students were excited to welcome 2 new residents to our school: a pair of furry and friendly guinea pigs. The new arrivals settled in quickly, with thanks to our students who have already learned to look after them kindly and responsibly. And the programme was such a success that they have now been joined by some hamsters – which are students are able to take home for weekends. A warm welcome to our new school animals, and a big well done to the students for taking such good care of them.
